Quick weekend sports preview
August 18, 2007
I’m not going to do a full weekend sports preview until football starts, since all of the baseball games are the same match-ups as Friday’s games, and I’m lazy. Hey, it’s the weekend, give me a break.
So here’s just a quick rundown of the games on national TV this weekend:
SATURDAY:
12:30 p.m., MLB on Fox, either Detroit Tigers at New York Yankees or St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs. 73% of us get Tigers/Yankees, 26% Cardinals/Cubs. Click on that link to see which game you get in your area. I’m surprised FOX didn’t pick up Angels/Red Sox too, since that’s a game with the best two teams in baseball.
7 p.m., WGN: Chicago White Sox at Seattle Mariners. The Mariners still have a 1/2 game lead in the Wild Card and a 3-game deficit in the AL West.
All day on ESPN/ESPN2: Little League World Series or Tennis.
SUNDAY:
10 a.m., TBS: Arizona Diamondbacks at Atlanta Braves. I still can’t get that Mark Teixiera song out of my head.
5 p.m., ESPN St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs. Another game where Joe Morgan won’t know what he’s talking about.
And Little League World Series, Tennis and NASCAR all day on the ESPN Networks.
