What the hell?
November 3, 2007
Grand Valley State 85, #8 Michigan State 82 (2 OT)
I know it’s only an exhibition game, but should a Division II team be beating the #8 team in the country (Michigan State)?
Congrats to Grand Valley State, who may have had the biggest moment of its season before it even begins.
Sports this weekend

Those television contracts are tricky. A ranked Wisconsin team is playing #1 Ohio State — on the Big Ten Network. Oops. The biggest game in the nation is Arizona State/Oregon, and ABC chose to televise UCLA/Arizona as its Pac-10 game. Oops.
Five games I’m looking forward to this weekend and one I’m not, but will watch anyway:
- Arizona State/Oregon — the winner has legit national title hopes.
- Nebraska/Kansas — I’m officiallly on the Kansas bandwagon. How great would it be to see a team like Kansas run the table and go to the championship game?
- Wisconsin/Ohio State — should a team from the Big Ten really go to the championship game? Should the winner even get a BCS bid?
- Navy/Notre Dame — Please let the streak end. I’m not normally that big of a Notre Dame hater, but when they’re this bad, it may as well be a historically bad year.
- Florida State/Boston College — Weirdly, it’s Boston College with the national title hopes. After beating Virginia Tech, maybe BC is for real.
- UCLA/Arizona — I really don’t want to watch this game, but I will anyway because I’m a UCLA fan. Let’s see if the Bruins can actually beat a bad team on the road, which if you haven’t noticed, is a challenge for them.
Notice how I didn’t include the biggest game in the history of the NFL. The full weekend TV listings:
