Barry Bonds has been indicted.

Obstructing justice and perjury are much worse than simply taking steroids. What’s worse, having your all-time home run king have an asterisk or be behind bars? I don’t actually think Bonds is going to be found guilty of either perjury or obstructing justice or spend significant time in jail, but that there’s a real chance of this is bad for baseball.

Oh, and as The Smoking Gun finds, the government says it has proof of a positive test for an anabolic steroid.

Not a good day for Barry Bonds or baseball, even though we all expected this and saw it coming.

Barry Bonds is actually lucky. A different view, but it makes sense. I’ll have more on Barry later myself. (Larry Brown Sports)

It’s good that the GMs are looking into ways to speed up baseball, not bad. And I love baseball. (Bugs & Cranks)
