Sports this weekend
November 17, 2007
I know it’s supposed to be rivalry week, but there doesn’t seem to be as many college football games to forward to as usual this week. On the plus side, I won’t have to suffer through a UCLA loss this week.
Games to watch:
#7 Ohio State at #21 Michigan (9 a.m., ABC) — Playing for the right to be blown out in the Rose Bowl.
Duke at Notre Dame (11:30 a.m., NBC) — It’s the battle of 1-9 teams in what could be the worst matchup on national television. But I’m still going to tune in to see if Notre Dame could fall to 1-10 by losing to Duke of all teams, which could be more embarrassing than losing to Navy or Air Force. Duke fans are calling it the Duke Super Bowl, check that site out.
Iowa State at #3 Kansas (12:30 p.m., ABC/ESPN) — Is Kansas really about to go 11-0 and be #2 in the BCS standings? Really? It would be great if Kansas somehow got to the national title game just for the underdog/randomness factor alone. Would anyone outside of the state of Kansas pick the Jayhawks to beat LSU? Anyone?
#1 LSU at Ole Miss (12:30 p.m., CBS) — Can the Orgeron pull an upset? Probably not, but as crazy as this season has been, it would be fun to see if it did happen.
#4 Oklahoma at Texas Tech (5 p.m., ABC) — When this is your best prime-time game, it’s a weak Saturday of football.
