Joe Beimel has one dedicated (crazy) fan. And a sense of humor too (If you watch the video, keep watching until the end. Trust me.):

65 days ’til Opening Day

January 26, 2008

There are 65 days left until that best day of the year, MLB Opening Day. 65 is also the number of at-bats Milton Bradley had for the A’s last year before he was traded to the Padres.

But what most people will remember about Milton Bradley is the epic incident he was involved in with umpire Mike Winters. Reportedly, Winters baited Bradley with some kind of slur, and Bradley went on a tirade and had to be restrained by manager Bud Black, which caused Bradley to miss the rest of the season with an ACL injury.

MLB Advanced Media has tried to remove all video clips of this off YouTube and Google, so the only video I could find and embed of the incident was 35 seconds in of this Bradley interview on the Best Damn Sports Show.

That incident remains one of the most bizarre things I’ve seen on a baseball field. You wonder if Bradley could’ve made the difference in any of the games the Padres lost in the final week of the season (they only missed the playoffs because they lost that one-game playoff to Colorado.) The umpire was suspended for the rest of the season.
