    Leitch piece reminds me of being a Padre fan. Go to games out here and you are likely to see more t-shirts and paraphernalia for the opposing team than the home team. I expect it with Dodger fans so close, but Cub fans? And even Rockie fans?!

    I do realize that there are a lot of transplants in San Diego so that may be part of it, but the Padres are not bad enough to be scorned by the children born out here. Why then are their so many little kids walking about in jerseys other than the hoe team ? we do have a young Red Sox fan in our household, but at least he likes the Padres also.

    Certain teams and areas just don’t seem to engender loyalty for some reason.

    I’m not surprised by Cub fans invading Petco. They’re everywhere.

    But Rockies fans? Really? That surprises me. I didn’t know they existed outside of Colorado.
