Just another Halo victory
April 2, 2008
I wasn’t expecting the Angels to go on a losing streak, but it’s always nice to get that first win of the season out of the way.
Jon Garland pitched eight great innings, being more effective than any pitcher I’ve ever seen who didn’t strike out any batters. The saber-geek in me wants to see Garland strikeout more batters, but honestly, if he somehow keeps repeating this performance, I don’t care if he doesn’t strike out a single batter all season long. Also, the offense finally exploded, with Vladimir Guerrero, Garret Anderson and Howie Kendrick each getting three hits.
Twins fans booed a call in the ninth inning — to their credit, enough of their fans stuck around with their team losing 9-1 to make a lot of noise. That’s impressive.
