You’ve got to be kidding me

Chan Ho Park is a Dodger again. Yes, on the major league roster and everything.

After signing that big contract with the Rangers before the 2002 season, Park never once played a full season because of injuries. He had zero good seasons in that span, with only halfway-decent season (2006).

Park is now re-joining the team where he was at his best — he played for the Dodgers from 1994-2001 and was pretty good too. But Angel fans like me will always remember him for this:

Quick UCLA roundup

We’re still one day away from the Final Four game — it seems like an eternity since the Bruins beat Xavier.

I should’ve blogged about this yesterday, since, as Bruins Nation points out, yesterday was a big day in UCLA basketball history. Five years ago yesterday, Ben Howland was hired. That worked out pretty well. 13 years ago yesterday, UCLA won its last national championship, beating Arkansas 89-78.

Boy I can’t wait until the UCLA-Memphis game. It should be great, and I’m cautiously optimistic. Memphis has dominated almost every time I’ve seen them play this season — but after watching UCLA all season, I always think they can win every game. UCLA is the underdog for once, at least according to the betting lines as Vegas Watch found.

Good start to the season

The Angels finished off their series at Minnesota with another one-run win.

Torii Hunter hit his first home run as an Angel, getting that out of the way so he doesn’t have to worry about it. Ervin Santana had a quality start and Francisco Rodriguez got the save despite walking two batters in the ninth.

All in all, it’s a good way to start the season. It might only be the Twins, but winning 3 of 4 against any one on the road is a good thing.
